Over the past eleven seasons, members of Team 4855 Ramageddon have accomplished many feats, including winning several rookie awards in 2013, winning the Entrepreneurship/Sustainability Award four times, qualifying for the State Championship several times, qualifying for the FIRST Championship (aka Worlds) once, and winning the most prestigious award in FIRST Robotics, the Chairman’s Award, in 2020. With all these successes, the one prize that the team had been working so hard for but had thus far eluded them was winning a competition. That changed this weekend when members of Ramageddon were selected for the number one seed alliance at the FIRST in Michigan West Michigan District Competition which ultimately went on to win the competition.
This win puts Ramageddon on the bubble for qualifying for the State Championship but even if they don't qualify, there have been so many high points this year that it can, without a doubt, be called a successful season. On top of winning this weekend's competition, the team also won the Sustainability Award at Muskegon last weekend and the Team Spirit Award at GVSU. Judges recognized Ramageddon for the team's passion for STEM and for the team's efforts in expanding FIRST programs in our community and schools.
Congratulations to Team 4855 for winning their first blue banner and for continually making your school and community proud!
