Official practice for South Haven Fall Sports will begin before you know it. High school sports can begin practice on Monday, August 12. Middle school sports begin practice on Monday, August 26.
Please remember that you MUST have a physical on file in order to tryout or practice. Any athlete without a physical will NOT be allowed to begin practices. You must also be completely registered in FinalForms to participate. This means your profile should be GREEN. You can find more information about FinalForms by CLICKING HERE.
Below is a list of start times and locations for fall sports practices. We will continue to update it as information becomes available.
High School Football will officially begin practice on Monday, August 12. Practice for players in grades 9-12 will run from 3:00-7:00 pm at the HS practice fields. Athletes should bring cleats and water. Questions can be directed to Coach Mark Eddy at meddy@shps.org.
Middle School Football: will begin official practice from 4 to 6 pm at Baseline’s Field beginning on Monday, August 26. The team is open to South Haven Athletes in seventh & eighth grade. Athletes should bring athletic clothes, cleats and their own water. Questions can be directed to Coach Steve Burson at 269-767-0704.
Girls High School Golf: Practice will run from 3:00 - 5:15 pm beginning on Monday, August 12 at HawksHead Links. The team will meet outside of the pro shop. Girls should bring clubs and golf-appropriate attire. Questions can be directed to Coach Barry Shanley at bgshanley@gmail.com.
High School Sideline Cheer: Practice will begin on Monday, August 12 and will run from 5:00-7:00 pm. It will take place in front of the high school near Listiak Auditorium. Athletes are directed to bring athletics shoes and clothing (no jeans or jean shorts please). Questions can be directed to Head Coach Rachel Burson at rachelburson09@gmail.com.
High School Tennis: Practice will be held starting on Monday, August 12 from 3:00-5:00 pm at the HS Tennis Courts. Players are directed to bring good athletic shoes, sunscreen and their own water.
Girls High School Volleyball: Tryouts for all girls in grades 9-12 will be conducted on Monday and Tuesday (August 12 & 13) from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in the HS Gymnasium. Players should bring athletic clothes, knee pads, and their own water bottle. Questions can be directed to Head Coach Wendy Spencer at coachwendyspencer@gmail.com.
High School Girls Swimming and Diving: Practice will begin on Monday, August 12 at the South Haven High School Pool from 8:30-10:30 AM. Questions can be directed to Coach Julie Bell at juliebell616@gmail.com.
High School Cross Country: Practice for boys and girls in grades 9-12 will be together, starting on Monday, August 12. Practice will begin at Kids Korner at 8:00 am and run until 9:00 am for the first week. Runners should bring appropriate running shoes and clothing, as well as water to stay hydrated. Middle School Cross Country will on Monday, August 26 (the first day of school) outside of Baseline Gym Doors. Practice will run daily from 2:45-4:30 pm. Runners should come to practice with athletic clothes and shoes. Questions can be directed to Coach Tamara Rigozzi at tamara.rigozzi@gmail.com
High School Boys Soccer will begin practice from 5:00-7:00 pm at North Shore Elementary Soccer Field on Monday, August 12. Players in grades 9-12 will practice together during that time. Please bring water, cleats, shin guards, running shoes and appropriate athletic clothing. Questions can be directed to Coach Carlos Aguayo at aguayoc8@gmail.com
Middle School Boys Soccer will begin practice on Monday, August 26 at North Shore Elementary Soccer Field. Practice will run from 3:00-4:30 daily. Athletes should bring cleats, athletic clothing and shin guards. Questions can be directed to Coach Branden Holtzman at bholtzman@shps.org.
